HubSpot Custom Modules UI Concept

HubSpot is a powerful marketing platform, however it is rather limited in the amount if custom features you can add to your website without adding a tremendous amount of inelegant, hacky code. HubSpot introduced Custom Modules as a way to create cleaner, more scalable custom solutions that also provided the end user with a simple UI to make editing content easier and more intuitive. The first version of Custom Modules was a great start, but they are still limited in their functionality. Custom Modules also do not yet have ability to be packaged and distributed as self-contained plugins similar to what you can find in the WordPress or other CMS marketplaces. In an effort to remove the limitations from Custom Modules and change the way websites are built on the HubSpot platform, I mocked up a new design for the tool.

Features:

  • The ability to package a module with all of its assets so that it can be easily distributed and reused.
  • The ability to edit your HTML, CSS, and JS from within the Custom Module editor.
  • The ability to add more predefined inputs as well define your own custom input fields.
  • The ability to add a custom icon and documentation to a module.
  • The addition of repeatable input fields for use in creating solutions like product galleries and image sliders.
  • The ability to define limits to the number of time a module can be used on a page and the number of times a field can be repeated in the module.
  • A cleaner UI to make it easier for the end user to add their content to the module.
